Maintenance Supervisor (Hands on/ Working) 

Hours: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am-3:00 pm *Some Saturdays required*

The Taylor & Fenn Company is a ferrous sand casting foundry located in Windsor, CT. The ideal candidate will be constantly assessing the systems in place to ensure that they are both safe and operating efficiently. This candidate will be comfortable managing a team and conducting analysis in order to highlight areas for improvement. This candidate should also be comfortable ensuring necessary utilities are working correctly and possess strong organizational skills in order to keep track of multiple projects at once. 

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and supervise a team with a “safety first” mentality
  • Electrical experience required 
  • Have the ability to trouble shoot and repair basic mechanical and electrical issues
  • 5-10 years Maintenance Manager experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to read electric diagrams & mechanical drawings
  • Able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
  • Associates or Bachelors in Electrical Engineering preferred 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and follow all plant and department safety rules.
  • Support and enforce our Operations policy
  • Ensure all PPE is used at all times
  • 5S, visual management in accordance with our operations policy.
  • Enforce daily housekeeping and work place cleanliness
  • Ensure that all the machinery is performing to specification to produce the best casting possible from the tool
  • Ensure that all state and federal environmental requirements are sustained and in compliance with state and federal laws
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Develop OM program for machinery and facility
  • Communicate effectively with subordinates and peers verbally and written 
  • Check quality standards and functionality of services and machines regularly
  • Escalate any problems early and schedule repairs in order to minimize loss to business 
  • Conduct regular assessments and trainings to ensure safety of employees 
  • Analyze processes to ensure efficient functioning and perform analysis to make adjustments
